Saints in the Lobby

Democracy as we know it cannot survive if we get ride of lobbyists. Without lobbyists, how would Senators and Representatives have any clue as to how to vote.

We all know Senators and Representatives make promises when running for office that they will not keep. And they know it. What the electorate tells them to vote for is a myriad of conflicting programs, too large and contradictory to possibly deliver.

They have only the guys in the Great Lobby to bring the golden essence to them, the proper choice of what is truly important.

There is one dirty little detail wrong with this picture. Democracy is a word that appears nowhere in the Declaration or in the Constitution. Instead the Constitution, Article IV, section 4, says "The United States shall guarantee to every State in the Union a republican form of Government..."
