Let's Talk About the Future of Our Country

Now that we have gotten through Y2K, many Americans are waking up to some very obvious problems that need fixing. All our newspapers are printing letters from their readers listing their complaints. The internet is filled with posters discussing the horrors and helplessness that seem to be overpowering us all. My own e-mail is filled with egregious complaints against our politicians, from WDC to the local city halls around the country. Every one has his own list of grievances, but no plan to correct any of them.

There is a need for a plan! Head back to OZ and remember that we have had a yellow brick road all along. Let's click our heels together (you too guys) and head home. In order to be effective in our search for a plan of action we must do a little self-examining of ourselves. The most important start is not to fall for the naysayers who are telling us that America has become a corrupt nation. We are only guilty of making bad decisions by voting too many corrupt people into office. Repeat after me "We are all good and honest human beings who have been fortunate enough to live in a diverse and free country! We are not amoral, unethical or stupid! (Okay, we may be a little lazy, but that's easily fixed.) "We are not helpless to correct the situation, we merely have to define it."

We all owe President Clinton a thank you for pointing out the true meaning of corruption. America has been slipping slowly into Socialism for nearly 40 years. WJC simply sped up the action. The results of this action have put us all in jeopardy, as we have never known before. America has always known of other countries that have resented us for years; they however, have always respected us. Now most of the world countries have lost respect for us and are threatening grave danger. It is not too late to show these folks that we are still a great and powerful nation and that we mean what we say and we will keep our word around the world and we expect other nations to do the same. Thanks, WJC you showed us all what we don't want! I won't go into the list of his crimes but will point out just one that stands heads above the rest. We don't want any American illegally using FBI files against American people. The list is too long to put here, we already know what it entails.

Without tearing each other apart (if any of you have read several discussion boards, you understand what I mean) let us find a solution. We can start with our local problems (schools, local city planning and taxes) or we can head for the top! I see it as a pyramid where the base of local grievances is holding up the terrible leadership at the top.

Personally, I want to take on the top because this is an election year where every single one of us can, and must, change the personnel in WDC and all the appointed underlings that are not working well for us. The current group (A.G. FBI etc.) is not working to protect the laws of our Constitution, but is only concerned with protecting WJC's sorry ass. Working down the pyramid, we find our elected officials out of control! Let the debate begin here. We have been shown, clearly, what we don't want in the House but we must put our brains together to work and compile a list of what we do expect from the House and Senate.

Etherzone.com has given us a wonderful place to put our ideas together, prioritize our desires and discuss, debate, fight or anyway we can, to plan our revolution. We can do this by emailing our proposed list to me for compilation or, better yet, use the Discussion Forum here on Etherzone. Think about this action and how we can finally stop whining and CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I feel let down by my Representatives and will start my list here as an example.

No President shall issue an Executive Order without approval of The Congress.

We must be certain that we are working under the laws of the Constitution. The last things we need are more amendments.

When our list is ready for use, it should be sent to every newspaper, political group and website possible. This list can be used as a tool to determine how the candidates, running for the house every 2 years, should act. Then we must hold their feet to the fire until they do it "right."

We have always had the power to unite as a mighty power and change the make-up of our government. Why the need now? The new president needs a compatible congress to work for us and we must find the "right" reps to do the job. (Am I subtle, or what?) This can't be accomplished quickly, but if we start the action this year, the dominoes will tumble and eventually we will see a new face of government.

I'm not in the least worried that a Third party candidate for congress might get elected, as long as he/she is willing to accept our list. The voters in the district will handle his/her actions. We need to shake up Congress and let them know that we are alive, active and very aware of what they have done.

If this seems too big a challenge, start at the bottom of the pyramid. Our children must be educated in the ways of our government. Too many people do not know the background of America. There is an enormous need for books that are written for the younger readers, to show the brave history of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Our children should know the history of their family. How and why their ancestors immigrated here stressing freedom and liberty and the privilege of voting.

We also must get involved in School Board issues by: a) demanding a return to basics of reading and writing, and b) setting the rules of civilized behavior in the classrooms. These two demands are the basic differences between private and public school.

I read many discussion boards on the Internet. Many people are upset over their lack of control over their own lives, schools teaching inappropriate subjects, etc. The energy spent striking out against each other, instead of directing their energy into a united effort, is wasted. These folks blame others (sometimes verbally violent) for all their woes. They are demanding that their problems be solved by government action. (... shudder...) These are the naysayers who claim America is doomed. Nonsense! The last thing we need is more government control over our lives. Take a good look at who sits in Washington DC and run for your lives to remove their power. I tend to overlook these whiners and will search out the rest of us who are committed and determined to unite and show that, as a team we can change the system.

If you are interested in this action, send me your thoughts and let's work together in a simple uncomplicated debate on how we can get more involved in our government. I will answer every letter, if it's polite.
