Dynamite Vineyards 2004 Zinfandel Mendocino California
Another JJ Walker wine (Dyn-O-Mite). Not bad for just drinking but probably better with a dinner. Or as a base for Sangria you might be making.
This is a clear violet colored wine with some structure and of medium depth. Your nose can pick up some definite black currant or cherry top notes with some spice and pepper under tones. The notes your nose picked up don’t seem to translate well to your palette. It’s definitely a dry wine – somewhat high on then “pucker” factor with some good balance but a short to medium finish. It’s more complex than most that I’ve tried, hence the higher grade but it’s best use might be as a base for a Sangria.
Well balanced and tasty. Not for your sophisticated elder fairy. Sweetened with honey and cut with a dash of crystal spring water, this would make and excellent accomplice with the young mountain dryad whose looking to be debauched but needs an alibi...
