The public planning oppressors are at it again. In a Fort Worth Star-Telegram article ("Is the time ripe to privatize our urban mass transit systems? NO") a government coercion apologist cited a counterfeit case of "privatization" as a justification for damning all privatization. The writer makes it clear that he's against the very concept of privatization by describing the act of transforming any taxpayer-plundered boondoggle into a money-making enterprise "as close to vulture capitalism as one can get." He then offers Transantiago, the government-run bus system of Santiago, Chile, as his position-clinching Exhibit A.

Global warming and cooling, according to our more down-to-earth earth sciences scientists, seem to occur in 1500-year cycles. People's lifespans, something like 35 years or so for century after century before capitalism came along and, much to the chagrin of lefty hollowhead Marxist anti-capitalists who still blindly deny it, extended the average life expectancy out to 70 or 80 years or so, was just too short for people grubbing in the ground for their grub in the form of grub worms to take much notice of these great climate shifts.

"I believe in the values of individual freedom and unlimited opportunity that made this country great.

"I believe that the Republican and Democratic parties have betrayed those values, and that in so doing they have failed in their duty to the American people and to the American Dream.

For seven dollars and a blended wine you could do a lot worse than this one. Certainly a better wine than the Joe Blow Chardonnay tasted earlier. I’ve not tasted anything quite like this since the Relax Red I had a while back. Enjoy some today!

Five years ago last week, the US military's "shock and awe" campaign lit up the Baghdad sky. Five years later, with hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and nearly four thousand Americans dead, we should pause and reflect on just what has been gained and what has been lost.

From the beginning, the march to war was paved with false assumptions and lies. Senior administration officials claimed repeatedly that Iraq was somehow responsible for the attacks of September 11, 2001. They claimed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. They manipulated the fear of the American people after 9/11 to further a war agenda that they had been planning years before that attack. The mainstream media was complicit in this war propaganda.

It’s a wine that is lackluster at best. Another word might be “blah”. Not one I’d recommend for sipping or with dinner. Other Chardonnays for the price are better choices. Try them first.

The occupation of Iraq began five years ago today, but few realize that the march to war began ten years ago under Bill Clinton, when regime change became official U.S. policy. In 1998, I took to the House floor in protest of the Iraqi Liberation Act to warn that, ‘I see this legislation as essentially being a declaration of virtual war. It is giving the President tremendous powers to pursue war efforts against a sovereign Nation.’ My warnings were largely dismissed at the time, but five years later, we were bombing Iraq.

In reality, it takes two to tango and a marriage is both give and take. It constantly baffles me that the majority of American woman don't seem to understand that their husbands have biological needs. And you woman, by agreeing to be married, have committed your life to meeting those needs, and if you don't accept that, you should just start the divorce proceedings already.

Now men, don't think you get off scot free here, your wife has physical, biological, and emotional needs that you too have committed your life to meeting.
